Spreadsheet from the previous tutorial have a title in cell C1. In this tutorial, you will know, how to use auto fill function of Microsoft Excel.

Click inside cell B2 and type Monday, as the figure shown below:

In this spreadsheet, now we have to enter name of all days of the week in row 2 from cell B2 to cell H2. But we don’t have to type all of them, for this we use auto-fill function in Microsoft Excel to complete a known sequence.

To do this, move your mouse pointer to the bottom right of the cell B2 and the mouse pointer will change to black cross as the figure shown below, and it means that auto-fill option in available.

When you can see the auto-fill black cross then hold down the your left mouse button and drag it to the cell H2. As in the figure shown below:

When your cursor is in the cell H2 then leave the left mouse button and Microsoft Excel will now complete the days of the week as shown below:

Auto fill function is very useful when you want to complete a known sequence like a days of the week, name of months and like that. Now, we can enter a few chocolate bars in our spreadsheet.

Enter some chocolate’s name in cell A3, A4, A5 and A6 and at the end write “End Totals” in the cell A8. The spreadsheet looks like this:

Enter some data in the next cells of the chocolate’s bars and your spreadsheet looks like this:
